I have a gas fireplace. I have replaced the valve the thermopile and over temp sensor. Repair or replace the blower if your fireplace has one to get rid of grinding or shrieking. Gas fireplace shuts off and pilot goes out.

I have a gas fireplace natural gas that shuts itself off the pilot too after it operates for about an hour. When i remove the logs it operates longer for about two hours before it shuts down. This condensation will dissipate within a few minutes as the firebox heats up and the flames turn yellow. Gas fireplace shuts itself off.

It should say on until i manually turn it off i found that when i first light it the burners stay lit for maybe 15 20 mins. It starts up fine runs for about 5 10 minutes than completely shuts off pilot and all. The pilot will re light without problem and the whole sequence can be repeated ad infinitum. Gas fireplace burns then shuts down pilot light works fine when i throw on the wall switch the main burner ignites fine.
