Garage Door Bracket Ripped Off

One morning on our way out for the day we tried to open the garage door but the opener pulled out of the door and broke the door mount.

We ended up fixing i. The bracket that connects the push arm of our garage door opener is getting ripped off from the door see picture below. If the piece of metal that broke off your garage door is not where the j bar connects to your garage door it may still be possible to repair the garage door panel. After taking a closer look at the problem i realized the aluminum of the garage door was not strong enough to endure constant use.

My garage door bracket which connects the garage door arm to the garage door ripped out of the garage door. A strut is a metal piece that runs the full width of the garage door. I didn t have more time to wait for a second opinion so i decided to fix the problem myself. Adjustable to fit different size sections and some are non adjustable and fit specific size doors.

Ordered this to replace an identical bracket that ripped out of the aluminum support of my garage door.
